Early Life
Kamal was born in a Tamil Speaking Hindu Tamil Iyengar Brahmin Family in Paramakudi Tamilnadu, he was born on 7 November 1954, his father D. Srinivasan was a freedom fighter and lawyer by profession, and his mother Rajalakshmi was a homemaker.
His parents named him Parthasarathy but his father doesn’t like the name after a few days he changed his name to Kamal Haasan, Kamal is the elder child in his family he also has two elder brothers and an elder sister.
His first elder brother is also an Indian actor who mainly acts in Tamil films and his second elder brother Chandrahasan he was also an actor in Tamil films. His elder sister Nalini is a classical dancer.
Kamal completed his primary school education in Paramakudi, later his family shifted to then Madras which is now Chennai, when he was in Primary school he was attracted to fine acts and films and his father noticed Kamal’s attention towards the arts so he encouraged him.

Kamal Haasan married a classical dancer and his co-star Vani Ganapathi in 1978, he was 24 years old then, and Vani Ganapathi worked with Kamal in a movie called Melnaattu Marumgal.
After marriage, she stopped working in movies as a dancer and worked as a costume designer for her husband, due to some personal issues, the couple separated from each other after ten years of married life.
Later he dated and married film actor Sarika Thakur in 1988 the couple gave birth to their daughter Shrithi Haasan in 1986 before getting marriage and later her second daughter Akshara was born in 1991.

Kamal Haasan’s mother Rajalakshmi has a friend who was a physician, Kamal use to play with her he was so adorable so used to like to spend time with him one day she went to treat the wife of a film director A.V. Meiyapan.
This little guy attracted A.V Meliyappan’s son who also works in films, so he suggested his father for their upcoming project Kalathur Kannamma in 1960 six years little boy won the honourable Rashrapathi Award for his acting in that film.
That’s how Kamal Haasan stepped into films, after that film he got another five movie offers lined up for him to act in those movies., but he didn’t neglect his studies he balanced his education and his film career as well being as child artist.
He took a break from movies for seven years, later he came back to the films, he worked as a dance assistant apprenticing under Thankappan who was a choreographer.
After appearing in many movies he made his lead role appearance in the movie called Kanyakumari in 1974, it was his first movie as a lead actor, and for this film, he won his first Filmfare award.
