Sanam Johar was born in the capital of India – New Delhi. He did his schooling in Delhi and did his graduation in physics honors in Hindu College, New Delhi. Singing, Dancing and basketball are his interests in the childhood.He did training in almost all forms like hip-hop, jazz etc from masters like Fernando Aguilera, Indian Fernando Ballet Company. He got the name and fame by taking part in the TV reality show Dance India Dance aired on ZEE TV. After his performance in Dance India Dance he was signed as a choreographer in dancing reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 5 where he used to teach actress Archana Vijaya.
